W. Angel’s CONQUEST
The CONQUEST band was formed in Kharkiv, Ukraine at 1996 as a solo studio project of the guitarist W.Angel playing classic hard rock influenced by Def Leppard.
Up to the end of 1997 the line-up was completed and on the 7th of January of 1998 Conquest performed the first live show. In 1998 the band played lots of gigs over Ukraine, among them the show with Russian Heavy metal legend Aria.
After a few changes in current line-up the band started to play faster and more aggressive music.
The first demo Endless Power was released by Russian label Irond Rec. It includes fast melodic tracks with some Slavonic folk melodies combined with power-speed riffs and impressing vocals.
The band changed their style of music to European power metal.
The second Frozen Sky LP was released by Musical Hall Distribution Ukranian indie label and was kept in the same aggressive but melodic style.
Playing songs from these two albums around Ukraine and neighbor countries made the band one of the most popular and actual metal bands in Ukraine. Third named Empire was released autumn 2009 on Metalism Records Russian independent label. At 13th of January 2010 the band introduced their new Be My Light EP.
At the beginning of 2011 the band made a decision to turn the name into “W. Angel’s Conquest”.
During the period since March to November 2011 band worked upon a next album named IV. Thankfully to Quarter Century Flame (Japanese division of Warner Music) and Metalism Records label new album has been released at the end of December the same year.
At summer 2012 the band decides to take a lead singer Konstantin “Laars” Naumenko.
The band also shared a scene with such bands as Sabaton (Sweden) at Warsaw and Krakow (PL), Sirenia (Norway) and Rage (Germany).
