Go into detail on how you decide to choose music as a career.
I actually started out as an Electrical Engineer and went to the University of Michigan. During my college days, I became super interested in DJing and started to DJ small parties around town. This quickly led to me wanting to learn how to produce my own remixes and full original songs. Eventually, I quit my corporate America job to do music full time.

Brief us the feedback you are getting from fans concerning your music.
I’ve been getting great feedback the past few releases with a lot of support from fans worldwide along with the support of my fellow DJ community.

Discuss the relevance of social networking to music.
It’s huge. You can have one on one interaction and talk directly to your fans. You post a new single or snippet of your work and instantly people are able to let you know if they are feeling it or not.

Brief us about the recording of this song.
It was actually created in multiple locations. It started in Nashville, the instrumental was finished on tour in Trinidad & Tobago and the vocals were recorded in LA.

Tell us the story behind the song.
This song was created over the past 2 years. It all started with the chords and the original drop melody that I wrote in Nashville with my buddy Jeff Zacharski while we were working on a few other projects. I then revisited it months later and reworked the chords and drop before searching for the perfect vocalist. Then I met Jimmy Burney and his voice was perfect for the track and the result is “Black & Blue”.

State your area of specialization in music.
I usually create everything from a blank workspace and do all the final mixing and mastering. A lot of people are shocked that I do all my own mixing and mastering, but I’ve been doing that for years.

Tell us how long it takes to finish a song from the start.
It really depends. Some songs develop quickly and are done in a few days. Others like “Black & Blue” and “Chase Me” take up to 2 years to finish.

Go into detail on how you develop your lyrics and melody.
I usually let the vocalist write the lyrics and I focus more on the chords and melodies. I hook up a MIDI keyboard, start to mess around, record something and then go back into the MIDI notes and slide things around until I’m happy with it.

Discuss music generally in full detail.
I think music is one of the most powerful things we have. It can evoke so many emotions and memories. When you close your eyes and listen to a song you can picture where you first heard that track or a special moment that you had with it and that is super awesome to me!

State your five favourite genres of music.
Progressive House – It’s so uplifting and positive.
Electro House – The energy is insane.
Future Bass – I love how the vocals are more pop-oriented to complement the melodies of the track.
Breaks & Bass – There is something about the drums and groove that just make you move.
Pop – I still love a good vocal pop song!

Discuss your rehearsal.
I practice on my CDJ2000s to prep for sets. I like to play with different effects and transitions and take a lot of risks in practice so when it’s time to go live I can interact with the crowd while still rocking the decks.

State your favorite musical instruments.
Synthesizers – they can do anything you can imagine.

Describe the chemistry between you and your fans during a live performance.
I’m constantly looking at the crowd energy to see what they are vibing with. I love looking out and seeing a fan just totally lost in the music and the moment.

Discuss your personality in full detail.
I’m mostly a workaholic and perfectionist. Sometimes in the studio, I drive myself crazy trying to make every little thing perfect and have to remind myself that sometimes it’s the imperfections that make a song great.

Tell us about your musical background.
I actually didn’t know anything about music or music theory until my early 20s when I decided to take a few classes at the local community college. I studied piano and music theory there and it has helped me tremendously.

List your musical work.
In the past 2 years, I’ve produced probably hundreds of tracks with about 25 out now. You can check them all out on Spotify here

State what takes your time apart from music.
I love working out, playing basketball, and cooking.

Share your memorable experiences with us.
One of the most memorable things ever was when I did 60 shows in 5 weeks with the Ultimate Rejects for Carnival 2017 in Trinidad & Tobago. That was my first Carnival and it was insane. Just the energy and vibes, I’ve never seen anything like it. I’m headed back for 2018 and can’t wait!!!

Tell us the good and bad side of mankind you know.
Hahaha, this is a hard one. I think the bad side is that some people tend to feel entitled to things without wanting to work hard. I think the good side is that there are tons of people out there who want to share their passion and love of music and it’s an awesome adventure meeting them.
