In 2016, 15-year-old Zoë Ferguson began writing songs to cope with high school experiences and breakups.
Her father, musician/singer Bart Ferguson, is a familiar performer in the Portland music scene where Zoë grew up with music and songwriting in her blood.
Teaching herself piano, Zoë self-recorded and uploaded some of her tunes to SoundCloud, which launched her journey as an original artist.
After she was chosen to participate in Atlantic Records’ EMERGE program, Zoë continued to develop her unique voice, recording demos in a studio where her passion for performance and composition only grew.
With the help of professional producers her sound came to life, and at age 17, her first single as an independent artist, “Dip”, proudly showcases her talents as a singer/songwriter.
Zoë’s second single ‘Medicine’ is out on all platforms and she can’t wait to release more! Stay tuned!

Elaborate on the song.
‘Medicine’ was written about eight months ago. It was written by Zoë on the piano after another devastating heartbreak.
Zoë initially thought to DIY the production of the song. However local producer and friend Graham Barton liked the song so much that he built a track for ‘Medicine.’
Together Zoë and Graham are a magical team and you will hear more singles written by these two soon.

Update us on the latest news pertaining to your music career.
Zoë Ferguson’s third single will be released on all platforms on December 6th.
She will also shine on the front cover of the December (40th) issue of Reignland Magazine, with an interview inside!
Zoë is super excited for the world to read it and get to know her better!

Tell us your goal when you make music.
I want people to hear my music and be able to relate to the words.

Discuss your next project.
Zoë is working on a few collaborations with other artists and hopes to release an upbeat dance song from those collaborations, and she is working on her next song to be released sometime in the next year. What it’s about….?  Heartbreak again…Stay tuned!

Lyrics:
It’s all your fault that I hate you now
But you’re okay though I have no doubt
You ran away and you made no sound
Go play your games with her around

I’ve been trying my hardest, trying my hardest
To do what you did so easily
Been trying my hardest, been trying my hardest

To forget about you the way you forgot about me
I need the medicine for the pain
I need the medicine to take you away

I need the medicine just for the day
Maybe the medicine will heal all my heartache

I need I need I need
You baby baby baby
Cause I need I need I need

You baby baby baby

It’s all your fault I’ve got him around
I’ll compensate without you for now
Cause what you did to me

Fall for you on my knees
I’ll give you anything
Just to please you

I lose my energy
You have no sympathy
You’re not in love with me

Just a teaser

I need the medicine for the pain
I need the medicine to take you away
I need the medicine just for the day

Maybe the medicine will heal all my heartache

I need I need I need
You baby baby baby
Cause I need I need I need

You baby baby baby

You never really thought or even cared about me
You laugh behind my back but to my face, I’m pretty
Make all of these promises, but to me they’re empty
And everything you say means nothing

I need the medicine for the pain
I need the medicine to take you away
I need the medicine just for the day

Maybe the medicine will heal all my heartache

I need I need I need
You baby baby baby
Cause I need I need I need
You baby baby baby
